Quest
Altatood is on a quest to study, create, and share uplifting music.
Original Music
Funky J is an instrumental tune written by Jamie Snook. This original song combines elements of blues, funk, and jazz intended to kick off a funky groove for an audience.
Bulamazzi is a song written by Jamie Snook to bring awareness to the water crisis in Uganda. Altatood is working in collaboration with the non-profit Transcontinental Educator Artist Collective for Humanity (TEACH) to educate and transform communities through music (https://www.teach-arts.org/). Altatood has invited NELSONZ UG, a rapper from Bulamazzi, to provide vocals to the demo recording on this website. The final recording of Bulamazzi will be released by Altatood through TEACH on International Water Day March 22, 2024.
Bulamazzi is a village in Uganda, where many years the residents have been using a dirty water source for drinking, cooking, and washing. Many people get sick from dirty water, similar to the village called Orunyamo (https://lifewater.org/blog/water-crisis-in-uganda/)
In Uganda, 38 million people (83% of the population) lack access to reliable, safely managed source of water. 72% of the total population lives on less than $3.20 per day (https://water.org/our-impact/where-we-work/uganda/).
Cover Songs
In the Otter Creek watershed ecosystem in central Vermont, the non-human keynote species are designated and characterized by the three primary elevations: known as the lowlands, midlands, and highlands. While these keynote species may thrive within their own altitude, they also live and act within dynamic processes of a wholistic system that creates a vibrant and authentic ecosystem for all of its inhabitants to enjoy.
As residents of the Otter Creek watershed, Altatood are a group of keynote musicians who collaborate their ideas to create original music and perform cover songs to reach their regional audience. Altatood combines songs that include elements of country, rock, and jamband music to reach audiences residing within the Otter Creek watershed's lowlands, midlands, and highlands.
Altatood creates original music from the fabric of the Otter Creek watershed, while including thoughts and ideas that may apply to an international audience. Altatood is currently working on a song called "Bulamazzi", which is intended to reach an international audience in its release on International Water Day on March 22, 2024.
Altatood performs songs from these three main genres to reach audiences in the three primary elevations of the Otter Creek watershed.
